This #NationalHateCrimeAwarenessWeek AIWG spoke with Al Jazeera about the recent arson attack on Peacehaven Mosque and the latest hate crime stats that should concern us all.
For the eighth year in a row, Muslims are the most targeted faith group in England and Wales.
The statistics reveal how Islamophobia has become normalised. It's embedded in politics, online, and on our streets. And without a legal definition of Islamophobia, Muslim communities remain exposed and unprotected.
We simply can’t turn a blind eye to growing polarisation and far-right extremism which is targeting communities across the UK.
We need leadership that unites and collective action that pushes back against hate.
Stand up. Speak out. Be part of the solution.
