Thank you EY for inviting AIWG to deliver a keynote in recognition of Islamophobia Awareness Month.
It was a powerful moment to challenge misconceptions head-on and spotlight why awareness, allyship, and meaningful action are essential to building workplaces where every person feels safe, valued, and empowered to thrive.
The reality is stark: around 69% of Muslims in employment have faced Islamophobia at work, from subtle exclusion to direct discrimination. And as our report shows, the gender pay gap is even wider for Muslim women, compounding the barriers they already face.
This is why bold, proactive policies that centre inclusion and wellbeing are not optional, they’re critical, especially with Islamophobia on the rise. We all have a responsibility, Muslim and non-Muslim, to tackle discrimination in all forms.
A heartfelt thank you to EY, the Big Four, and everyone who supported and attended. And a special shoutout to the EY Muslim Network for organising such an impactful and necessary event.
